from Shakespeare's iconic play: Romeo and Juliet
These photos are of the main piece of my dress: It's an idea taken from the quote of:
"Wilt thou be gone? it is not yet near day:
It was the nightingale, and not the lark..."Looking at the use of the bird shape, and interlinking it with deeper images.
The bird itself is made up of fabric pieces cut into feather shapes, with a small amount of real feathers at the top of the wings.
On the chest of the bird is this take on symbol of cupid's arrow through a heart, however to have more of an impact I changed it to have a human heart with a dagger through it to reflect Juliet's actions at the end of the play, a symbol of death marked love.
